Founder/Director - Gerria Coffee
Business owner, founder, full spectrum doula, lactation consultant, midwife apprentice, station operations manager, radio program director, on-air personality, writer, designer, and public speaker: Gerria ‘Mz Coffee’ Coffee balances her numerous professional titles as a serial entrepreneur with personal roles as a mother of 4 homeschooled children 2 of which are twins. She founded Genesis Birth Services where the mission is to provide culturally competent and equitable support to the families often underserved and under-represented populations in pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. Gerria Coffee is currently the president of Pennsylvania Doula Commission and sits on the Advisory Board for the Healthy Start Center for Urban Breastfeeding, the Pennsylvania WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Advisory Board, Pennsylvania Work Force Development Board and Reentry Committee, the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development ECCS (Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems) Advisory and the Pennsylvania Prenatal to 3 Advisory Board. Our history
After taking a afternoon drive In 2018 Gerria Coffee noticed a women's State Corrections facility near her home and office. She then wrote a letter to volunteer services expressing a desire to to offer support to the pregnant women serving out their sentences at SCI Muncy. It wasn't until 2021 that Gerria received a call from Pennsylvania Department of Human Services asking if she would be willing to go into the prison. With initial support from the Tuttleman Foundation, PA DHS, PA DOC and others her dream of the PRISM Program became a reality. Since then the program has grown to include Douals, Outreach Specialists, and Lactation consultants to name a few.

Our Mission to is to center maternal and child health by restoring dignified care for justice involved and impacted families in pregnancy, postpartum, mental heath and re-entry support.
